Happy Monday everyone!! Who is suffering from a SuperBowl food hangover today? I thought Beyonce’s halftime routine looked great! I’m still cringing over that GoDaddy commercial … and sniffling over the Clydesdale and “God Made the Farmer” ones.
Well, I made it through my first craft show in one piece. We had a great turnout and thank you to all of my readers that came up and introduced themselves. I so enjoyed talking with you and putting a face with a name.
After killing myself and having zero sleep last week getting ready for it, yesterday I hibernated. I didn’t get out of my jammies at all. I hadn’t done that in forever. It was the first day I had taken off since October and I feel recharged today! I have some fun new projects to get started on for a couple of clients and a blogger contest coming up … so I am working on a super secret project for that.
I have some super exciting news!!! I’m going to be an aunt again!
My brother and his wife are expecting. It will be the only other grandchild on my side of the family … other than my unnamed child. It’s been 15 years since we have had a baby at our holiday gatherings, and we are all super excited! I just had to share!
I will be looking for some great baby shower ideas, so if anyone out there knows of anything really original, or finds a great Pinterest idea, please send them my way.
Speaking of little ones, here is my newest little end table. It was dirty and a bit roughed up, but I scrubbed it down and got to work. I chalkpainted it with a bright green custom paint, distressed it, and coated it in clear wax.
I will be listing it on Craigslist today!

You a great job!! I love everything you have posted. We are related through Chris. Did you mean you and Chris are having a baby? With the unnamed child part?

I went through a point in my life when I refused to paint wooden furniture but then I realized that my home was so dull and needed color. Once I began painting wood I could finally see the details, like on your table.
As for the commercials, wasn’t that go daddy one horrible? We all cringed through it.
Shanna says
I agree, a lot of those older pieces has such great carving that you just can’t see until you brighten them up. I saw an interview with the guy in that commercial and he said they had to do over 60 takes. He said it was the best day of his life!
Jenna says
What a gorgeous color! Love the end result. And congrats on being an auntie!
Kimberly @ A Night Owl says

I just love the hardware on this! Love how it works with the great green color!

We have that same table! (Minus the green paint) The previous owner of the house we just bought (first one!) left it along with a few other pieces of furniture for us! Its great for throwing blankets or game stuff for my DH’s Xbox 360…. Keeps it close but out of sight!
Donna Wilkes says
Great in green! Congrats to the new aunt.

Wow. Talk about talent! You are amazing. I wish I had the eye and skill for refinishing furniture! Seriously, you are amazing. Have you always had an eye for these things or did you learn it? I wish you could come help me decorate my house.

Awww…you are too kind Miss Kristina. It is just something I learned by trial and error. A lot of error in the beginning lol! I’m sure we would have lots of fun decorating your house. Hope you stop back by again!
