Do you have a room in your house that you keep saying you’re going to makeover soon, only to realize you have lived in your home for 10 years and it still hasn’t happened yet?
Well that room is my office.
For the last 10 years it has been the room where I throw all of my staging decor, along with the laundry, and my photography equipment. That means when company comes over, the door to that room stays closed.
We get a lot of light that comes in the windows to that room. When the door has to stay closed it means my hallway is super dark.
I am going to repaint the hallway this weekend, and I realized “What’s the point?” if it looks like a cave because I have to keep the door shut.
So last weekend I decluttered it and got to work on the little alcove area.
First of all, the bench seat has a dark ugly water ring from when Topher brought in a plant for the winter, and water leaked and ruined the wood. I found this pretty shag throw at TJ Maxx and folded it in half and draped it over the seat.
I then made this greek-key valance, which I will be bringing you the tutorial on tomorrow.
This little area is right beside the retro bookcase I made over.
Don’t worry, I haven’t had a chance to paint the walls or trim yet, but it’s coming.
So with the bold green bookcase and the pink rug, I knew I needed some bright pillows to brighten things up on the seat in order to pull it all together.
Pillow Central sent me these fabulous pink patterned pillows which I think go perfectly in this spot.
They have an amazing selection of pillows, covers, materials, and sizes. They have pillows from the top brands and hottest designers.

Hi there. I love the makeover. Nice bright colours. I have no pillows on my family room sofa. It really needs pillows to bring it out. Some nice light greens and yellows I think. My sofa is brown and I’m just starting to re do the room so it would be great to win. Thanks for the giveawy

Great pillows! I would pick pillows in the red, yellow and orange colors to go on my bed! The ones I like are the Exquisite in Ikat, Appealing Aboriginal and Branch.

I love pillows! Right now I am in the process of updating an old sewing table and have been debating about adding decoupage to the top with the fabric that is the exact same as the pillow in the “Into The Woods” collection called Bara Animal. I think it is stunning and now that I have fabric to match, that pillow would be a perfect addition!!
