Growing up, Halloween was a big deal in my home.
It was my mom’s favorite holiday. She would go all out making costumes for my brother and me, and she ran our haunted house in elementary school. She would dress up in crazy, elaborate costumes each year.
All of this was great fun until I got to be in middle school. Then having your mom drop you off at school wearing a Supergirl costume wasn’t so exciting.
She did pass-on her love of the holiday to me. Now I don’t dress up in costumes (the unnamed child would absolutely disown me), but I do go all out with the Halloween decor (think a giant light up spooky tree in the front yard).
So I am starting early this year.
My other love, as you know, are all things glitzy and glamorous. So in this next project I decided to combine both of my loves.
Here is what I used :
- A plastic pumpkin I chose black,
- A glue gun,
- Some rhinestone jewelry (I used come pendants that Michael’s had on clearance)
- A cardboard witch’s hat, and
- Some strands of pearls any old or broken strands would be perfect
First, I took my hat outside and spray painted it ivory.
Once that dried, I started gluing my pearls onto the hat, switching colors at the end of each strand, until the entire thing is covered (this is the part that takes the longest).
Next, you glue on your jewels for the face.
Last you glue her hat on the top of the pumpkin, and that’s it! Super easy Halloween project!
