With all of this cold weather and snow we have been having, I have been craving Spring. Frankly … I’m over winter.
The pups have frustrated looks on their faces from their lack of walks. I am much more likely to get to the gym if I don’t have to drive through a foot of snow to get there. I want to be able to go to the grocery store without having to wash the car after each trip. And I really can’t wait for the day I can walk down to the mailbox without having to put on my “winter shoes” that are parked by the front door all the time.
And now my poor friends on the East coast are getting hit by old man winter once again. Hang in there guys! According to the groundhog’s prediction earlier in the month, it’s only another 4 1/2 weeks of winter…
With all my time indoors, though, (and to distract me from the gloomy skies) I decided to load-up on supplies from Michael’s and whip-up a flurry of Springtime craft projects.
For today’s, here is what you will need:
- A moss covered wreath
- A “mini” bird
- A “mini” nest
- A cardboard banner
- A Small bottle of chalkboard paint
- A roll of ribbon, and
- A hot glue gun
Start by gluing your nest on the inside rim of your wreath.
Next glue your bird inside the nest.
Then paint your cardboard banner with two coats of your chalkboard paint.
Once the paint dries, string your twine through your banner. I used a hole punch to get two holes through the top.
Then using chalk (or chalk pens), decorate your banner however you like — I decided to write the word “SPRING”.
Hot glue your banner on and then make a bow for the top of your wreath.
That’s it! Super easy!
This will be one of the crafts I will be making at the Michael’s/Hometalk Pinterest Party I will be hosting from 1-4 this Sunday, Feb. 16th at the east-side Michael’s in Wichita.
The class is totally free; just buy your supplies and meet me in the craft room!
Cute! We have 10 inches so far and it’s only 8am. It’s supposed to snow all day! I am so ready for spring.
First of all…I’m in LOVE with your door. Like, really. I have this color all over my house, but never thought to use it on the front door. Well, DUH! And the wreath is gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.
Cute wreath! I love the bird and the nest!
