What a year it has been my friends! Today we are taking a look back on all of your favorite fashion items of the year. I love to be able to go back and look at your favorite items, so I can see what it is you are drawn to so I can plan out future content for the upcoming year. I think what most of these items have in common is comfort! You are like me and are happiest when you are wearing cozy clothes!…

Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year’s friends! I hope you all had a great New Year’s Eve! I would like to tell you that we got all glammed-up and went out for a fun night on the town … but that was not the case. My hubby is the CIO at a bank, and their busiest day of the year is always New Year’s Eve, and he usually doesn’t get home until after 10 pm, and then is ready to go to bed. I usually sit at home alone with the pups watching Ryan Seacrest, eating popcorn.
I know, boring. If any of you did anything fun let me know so I can live vicariously through you!…
After Christmas Deals
Happy Friday! Is it just me, or is anyone else feeling a little Christmas hangover? All of the scrambling to go to get-togethers and hosting parties can wear a girl out. Not that I don’t enjoy it all — Christmas is my favorite holiday and spending time with family is my favorite thing to do. It’s just that I feel like I now need to sleep for about 24 hours straight.
I am currently still watching Hallmark Christmas movies and enjoying my holiday decor. This will continue until Jan. 1st. I know many people start the Christmas cleanup on the 26th, but I like to stretch the holidays out as long as I can. I always feel a little sad when it’s time to box it all up.
One thing that cheers me up when I get the post Christmas blues is all of the great post Christmas sales. Just about every retailer is offering some killer deals right now. I like to stock up on gifts for birthdays and even Christmas and gift exchange gifts for next year right now. I’ve put together some of my favorite deals at all of my favorite stores for you!…
Merry Christmas from Us to You!

Favorite Things Gift Guide
Hello friends! Our Christmas party I was telling you about last week was so much fun! We ate an enormous amount of food and just enjoyed visiting while the little ones played all around us. The best part of Christmas is spending time with family and friends, especially those you don’t see very often.
I’m about half way through wrapping gifts. I have to admit I hate this part. I am a terrible wrapper, so most of the time I get the gifts ready in boxes, seal them, and then pass them over to Topher. Through the years when we brought gift to gatherings that I wrapped, people would laugh and say how cute it was that our daughter (who was little at the time) wrapped them. I, of course, wrapped them, but I would just laugh along and pretend that she was the one that wrapped them. Now that she is an adult, I have no one to throw the blame on, so Topher does most of the wrapping … which I think is fair because I do 100% of the shopping….
Under $25 Gift Guide
Happy Friday friends!
We are hosting our first Christmas gathering here tomorrow night, so I am running around like a maniac trying to get this house cleaned up. There’s “clean”, and then there is “company’s coming clean”, and we are not at that point yet.
Growing up in my hometown, there was a sweet little older couple (June & Cecil) that lived across the street from us that were basically my brother and my surrogate grandparents. Every year we would go over to their house and have a Christmas dinner. My brother and I were super picky eaters, so they would make us breakfast for dinner as they knew that is what we liked. We would have huge platters of bacon, eggs, toast and pancakes (as well as wine for the adults), and we weren’t allowed to leave the table until all of it was gone. We are talking pounds and pounds of bacon people.
A few years ago we lost Cecil, and it became too difficult for June to handle on her own. Rather than lose our tradition we decided on Topher and I hosting the gathering every year and one of my other family members brings June to where we live now. Through the years our gathering has grown by adding new grandbabies, and it is something we look forward to every year.
Last year we made 9 lbs of bacon, 5 cartons of eggs, and several loaves of toast … and ate every bit of it. We end up physically ill and incredibly swollen the next day, but we look forward to that night all year.
We are hosting that tomorrow night, so if you see me on Insta stories this weekend looking like a blowfish you know why….
