Mason Jar Gift for the Dog Lover

Can you believe there are only 5 weeks until Christmas?

I may procrastinate on a lot of things, but buying Christmas gifts isn’t one of them. The thought of fighting the crowds the last week or two before Christmas makes me break out into a cold sweat. Those shoppers are mean!

If your family is like mine, there are a few people on your list that are so stinking hard to buy for. A couple of those people on my list are dog lovers. You know how obsessed I am with my pups, and it turns out so are a whole lot of other people. I personally would rather have someone get some goodies for my fur babies than to get me some piece of jewelry that I will never wear, or some whackadoodle scarf that goes with nothing I own.

I also love adding a vintage touch to gifts that I give, so putting it in a mason jar is a super cute idea.

Here’s some of the goodies that I included in my mason jar gift:

A gift card to Wal-Mart, Pet Smart, Target or anywhere the person can buy pet related goodies.

A cute collar that shows a little personality. I added a little tie that clips on to the collar to spiff things up a little.

Some different treats or favorite snacks. Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish are a hit at our house.

To keep their breath fresh and teeth clean these Get Naked Super Antioxidant chews are great.

Kong SqueakerAir Balls are Gracie’s favorite thing in the world. She can be in the sleep of the dead, but if she hears one of these babies she is up the stairs in record time.

Easy Thanksgiving Coffee Table Decor

Happy Thursday my friends!

Can you believe it’s only two weeks until Thanksgiving? This year has flown by!

The temperatures really dropped here yesterday, and wind was out of control! I will say this, though, the drop in temperature does make it seem more holiday-ish.

We are going to be hosting Thanksgiving here this year, so that means two things:

All of the projects that I have been putting off have to be done ASAP, and
I must do a little decorating for Thanksgiving.

So as we speak, I am painting my mantel white. This is huge! I have been trying to talk Topher into this for years, and I finally wore him down people! Last weekend, I mentioned it for the umpteenth time, and he said “whatever“. So of course I took that as a yes!

He left on a business trip on Monday morning, and when he returned late last night it was halfway done. And here’s the big news … he actually liked it! If the man would just listen to me more often… Geesh!…

AIBI Watch Giveaway

Like most moms, I am a giver.

All year round I am the buyer of all the birthday gifts, the Christmas gifts, and anything anyone in the house needs. The one person I rarely shop for is me.

Since my wardrobe primarily consists of little else than paint-splattered sweats, there is little need to go shopping. On the rare occasion that I do leave the house, I am always struggling on what to wear and how to accessorize it. Getting Ready For Fall

These sayings remind us of just how important our homes are. It is where we spend time with our families, entertain during the holidays, hang out with friends, and just relax and unwind.

While we are doing all of those things, it is very important that our home maintains its welcoming aromas. I love to have candles burning on cold rainy days or anytime I am expecting company.

Easy Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great Halloween!

Between now and Christmas, life seems to get a little chaotic — decorating your home, family get togethers, and holiday parties can make your head spin.

Last year, I bit off a bit more than I could chew, and I didn’t feel that I had any time to really enjoy the holidays because I was so busy. I vowed this year I wouldn’t sign-on for so much and do whatever I could to make things easier.

This year we are hosting Thanksgiving here, and I decided to get as much finished ahead of time as possible. Instead of some elaborate centerpiece that I spend a week working on, I decided to keep it simple.

Where I live, when you are looking for pumpkins you usually find one color: Orange.

If you try really hard, you might get lucky and find a white one.

This year, I was super excited when I went to Wal-Mart and found all kinds of colors!

I picked-up this great blue/grey colored one and two little peach colored ones. I put all three in my dough bowl, and they looked good … but it was a little bare….
