Happy Thursday my friends!
Can you believe it’s only two weeks until Thanksgiving? This year has flown by!
The temperatures really dropped here yesterday, and wind was out of control! I will say this, though, the drop in temperature does make it seem more holiday-ish.
We are going to be hosting Thanksgiving here this year, so that means two things:
- All of the projects that I have been putting off have to be done ASAP, and
- I must do a little decorating for Thanksgiving.
So as we speak, I am painting my mantel white. This is huge! I have been trying to talk Topher into this for years, and I finally wore him down people! Last weekend, I mentioned it for the umpteenth time, and he said “whatever“. So of course I took that as a yes!
He left on a business trip on Monday morning, and when he returned late last night it was halfway done. And here’s the big news … he actually liked it! If the man would just listen to me more often… Geesh!
In between coats of paint drying, I pulled out some of my Thanksgiving goodies and got to work on the coffee table. If you remember our Decorating Challenge last month was One Space 3 Ways. For October it was Halloween/Fall, this month it is Thanksgiving, and next month it will be Christmas.
Here was the coffee table for last month
I used my same DIY Restoration Hardware coffee table and went to town.
Since you all know how obsessed I am with all things blue, I started out with a simple turquoise burlap runner from Hobby Lobby. I added a giant pumpkin to the middle that I got at 80% off at JoAnn’s.
I took my same candlesticks that I used for my fall coffee table and added two tiny pumpkins to the top.
The glass cloche came from Nell Hill’s, and the giant acorn was also from Hobby Lobby.
I used my rocking horse, which I have had for several years (I believe from Joss & Main); the pumpkin and ironstone pitcher, as well as the feather floral piece, all came from yard sales.
Be sure to check out the other One Space, Three Way challenges below!

Now if they would just listen the first time around! I’ve had to wear Brian down on a few things as well (ahem, kitchen cabinets), and he always likes the results! I still love that coffee table and it’s decked out perfectly for Thanksgiving! Love the horse. 🙂

Wearing him down…I’m still trying to wear my husband down on the idea of no more leather couches, slip covered instead! We’ll see! Love the orange and turquoise!

There’s that pretty turquoise we’ve come to expect and love Shanna. I see that horse I love so much made the Fall vignette along with a new item that has me swooning…the fabulous wood acorn. Like your coffee table vignette all decorated for Fall!

I don’t know why they put up such a fuss, when they know we’ll eventually get our way. So glad Topher likes how it turned out. Your Thanksgiving table is so pretty. I LOVE the turquoise and pumpkin orange combo.
