Don’t you just love Fall? The cool crisp air, the way the leaves turn beautiful colors, and warm yummy drinks you can enjoy in front of a fire?
The only problem here is that even though it’s the middle of October, it is still almost 90 degrees! So here we are still wearing flip flops, although the pool is closed people are still laying out, and the poor kids playing football and in the band are about to keel over from heat exhaustion.
Here in Kansas, we don’t usually get much of a Fall. We pretty much go straight from summer to winter, and maybe get about 5 or 6 pretty days somewhere in between before the wind strips all those colorful Fall leaves from the tree. So I usually just go right from taking down summer decorations to putting up Halloween decor.
This year, I stepped out of the box. I decided no matter what it was doing outside, I was still going to decorate for Fall. You can see my Fall home tour here. I think this is the first time I have ever had pumpkins out that were not jack-o-lanterns … and I love it!
A few weeks ago my hubby’s aunt called and wanted to know if I wanted this giant china hutch she had. A china hutch was the one piece of furniture that I hadn’t painted, so I took her up on her offer.
Now when my hubby went to pick the piece up, he was a little less enthused than I was. It is a beast! The pictures don’t quite capture just how large it is … nor how heavy it is!…
