Happy Monday my friends! I hope you all had a great weekend!
On Saturday we were in Kansas City because Topher, the unnamed child, and my cousin all ran in the Warrior Dash. If you’re not familiar with what that is, it is a 5K where you have to scale all types of obstacles and usually end up a muddy mess. I didn’t do it because I hate to run. Also, because I don’t scale walls and swim through muddy, freezing lagoons.
Here’s a pic of the maniacs.
They dropped me off at Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is right next to a fun shopping center. I can’t even tell you the last time I had 7 hours to just walk around by myself and shop. I should mention … I found the perfect furniture set for my newly painted living room. Next on my list is how to pay for it.
Today I’ve got a makeover that didn’t cost me a dime.
I went to an estate sale on the last day it was open, and apparently at the last hour it was open. They were getting ready to close up, and while most of the items were gone, there were a few stragglers that caught my attention. One was this cute little claw foot table. It had some serious scratches, and a little water damage, but I knew a few coats of paint would fix that.
When I asked the lady running the sale how much it was, she told me just to take anything I wanted for free since she just wanted everything gone.
That was music to my ears.
Once I got the piece home, I cleaned it up using Simple Green to remove any dirt and grime.
I then used Deco Art’s Chalky Finish Paint in Whisper and dry brushed three coats of paint. The reason I dry brushed it was because it had these fabulous legs, and I wanted the carving to really stand out.
After my paint was dry, I gave it a coat of Americana Decor Creme Wax to protect it.
Wow free? That would have my heart aflutter too lol. Such a pretty piece in that creamy white! XO
After your restoration this sweet little table would be a charming addition to any room. Great job!
