Hello my friends!
Today, my Decor Enthusiasts friends and I are talking about decorating with baskets.
I have mentioned in the past that the majority of my decorating decor is upcycled. I get bored with my decor pretty quickly and like to change it out often, so I don’t like to spend a lot of money on it.
Baskets are no exception.
As far a baskets go, estate sales, thrift stores and yard sales are your best bet for getting them for next to nothing.
I also shop the clearance section at Michael’s and Hobby Lobby.
The basket in the picture up above is one I got on clearance at Michael’s, and then I used an extra 20% coupon on top of the sale price for a whopping price of $2.09.
I also threw in some high quality faux flowers I picked-up on clearance, and I have a centerpiece for less than $5 total!
I also got this basket at a yard sale for a dollar last spring.
I gave it a quick coat of chalky finish paint and popped some faux succulents in there and viola!
A new and inexpensive centerpiece!
I also used this $3 yard sale basket to pop under the bottom of my secretary.
Yard sales will be starting next month, so try to think outside of the box when you are shopping. As long as the baskets are in good shape, you can easily change the color to whatever you want.
You can fill them with anything from fresh flowers to vintage goodies and use them to fill an empty space, make a pretty centerpiece, or fill them with goodies as a gift for someone.
Make sure you head over to the links below to see all of the other ladies projects!
Make sure to join us next month as our theme is DIY and decorating with vintage windows!
