Topher and I were out late last night at a Christmas party so I didn’t have time for a long post. This one is short and sweet.
Over the summer, I bought two plain-as-can-be kitchen cabinet doors at a church rummage sale for 50 cents. I wasn’t sure what I planned to do with them, but it looked like a bargain, so I picked them up.
Sorry … I forgot to take a before picture, so here is a photo after I started painting.
I painted the outside with chalkpaint, and then distressed, glazed, and waxed them. I then used chalkboard paint down the middle.
I went to the Habitat for Humanity Restore and found two old cabinet handles for a dollar (we actually had to buy both doors just to get the handles). Here is the blue one. The coral one isn’t quite finished. I thought they would be cute in a kitchen or a child’s bedroom.
This would be a great Christmas gift!

Of course I’m liking it it has my name on it!
Actually this is a very clever cute idea!
How much does that chalk board paint cost?

Hi Joy- It’s about $12-15 for a quart. Definitely not cheap. You can get the spray on cans of it at Micheals and every Sunday there is a 40% off coupon for it in the paper.
