Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend!
Saturday was my little niece’s 1st birthday party! I can’t believe it’s already been a year. She had a lemonade stand party, and her mom did an awesome job! I got totally sidetracked when I got there and forgot to take pictures, so hopefully my sister-in-law took some, and I will share them with you later this week.
After we got home from the party, I did some painting on this desk from hell that I have been working on forever, and then I did some more staining on some drawers for a dresser that’s also in the works. I should be finished with the desk tomorrow, and it will be part of a tour that I am part of later this month.
I took some more goodies down to my booth last night, and thank goodness I did since it was wiped out again.
A couple of weeks ago, ScotchBlue TM Painter’s Tape asked me to do a project for them. Since I love their tape, I jumped at the chance to work with them!
I have had a naked spot above a white table for quite a while, so I decided to make some easy wall art to put above it.
Here is what you will need:
A canvas (I got mine at Michaels and used my 40% off coupon on it),
A roll of ScotchBlue TM Painter’s Tape,
And two different colors of spray paint (I used Krylon Mambo Pink and Krylon 18 KT. Gold Plate).
First take your gold spray paint ant spray your entire canvas. I did two coats just to be safe.
Next tape off a square in each of the four corners. I used a tape measure just to make sure my lines were straight.
Then place a piece of tape that goes just a little past halfway through each of your squares.
I forgot to take a picture of the last taped off piece but you can see it on the picture below.
You just connect the two floating lines.
Then go over your whole canvas with your pink spray paint. I again did two coats.
Last, you just remove your tape. Super easy project! It is important to make sure and measure to make sure your lines are straight, otherwise it will all look kinds of wonky.
Here’s the finished project!
The ScotchBlue TM Painter’s Tape did a great job! No leaking at all!
Very cute color coordination Shanna. Easy indeed! Love scotch brand too!
Super cute!! Love the colors!!
So pretty and modern Shanna! Thanks for sharing at Best of the Nest!
Thank you Lisa!
This turned out so pretty! I love the colors you chose and the crisp lines you got from the painter’s tape:)
Thank you Ginnie!
Really pretty with big impact!
Thank you Carmody!
I love these colors together. Looks like something expensive you would find in the store but seems pretty simple to make. Great idea!!!
Thank you Bethany!
What a fun project! I love your simple taping method for this pattern. Love it, but I could just see a big monogram right in the middle too! 😉 Thanks for linking up with us at Best of the Nest!
