When we moved into our house, the first thing I dove into fixing up was the interior. That’s the area that constantly surrounds you and makes you feel relaxed and at home, so it makes sense that’s where you would start.
So after we had lived here for a couple of years, we started to realize that we could see the interior … but people on the outside couldn’t. Anytime we had visitors to our home, their first impression was what the exterior looked like. The outside area of our home was blah. Too much tan, and not enough color gave it zero curb appeal.
Now if you are a regular reader here, you know that I like to do projects that are quick, cheap and easy. To stick to a budget, I pick lots of goodies up at yard sales.
Last summer, I picked up some ceramic pots and planters at a sale for next to nothing. I made over my Polka-Dot Ceramic Pot with nothing but a quick coat of pink spray paint and some pounced-on white paint.
I also took one of my pots and turned it into a fairy garden.
I also made this 3-Tier Polka-Dot-Hanging Planter. Can you tell I have a thing for polka-dots? This was made out of guttering and I used the same painting technique I used with the ceramic pot above.
All of these projects took very little time and gives a fun pop of color to the outside.
Plus they cost me hardly anything to do and all would be fun to have the kiddos help with.
