It’s finally here!!
I’m doing my first ever Halloween Home Tour! Or any type of home tour actually.
One thing that you won’t be seeing on my tour are the things I fear most in life: clowns. I took my daughter to the Halloween shop, and you would be shocked at how many scary clown masks for sale.
I quickly scurried down those aisles.
I am, however, a big fan of scary movies and always have been, but the one that scarred me for life was “It”. Anyone remember that one? The Steven King book that was made into a movie about a crazy, killer clown. That one haunted me for months, and I haven’t been to a circus since.
Other things that scare me are: heights, enclosed spaces, and walking over street grates (because A. You can’t tell me no one has ever fallen through, and B. That is where the killer clowns live.)
Speaking of where people live, here is my haunted abode.
Here is the mantel with my Dollar Tree Glitter Skull Garland. I made my black and silver wreath out of glitter pom poms from Michael’s. My white and black BeJeweled Jack-o-lanterns were made with jewelry pendants and strands of pearls and are resting on some vintage suitcases.
On my aqua painted table, I laid out an old, black pashmina, set out a black glitter tree (from Michael’s) and a silver glitter skeleton hand.
I took a cheap plastic skull from Dollar Tree and painted it silver and then gave it a shot of Krylon Glitter Blast spray paint and placed it under a cloche from Antique Farm House.
Then we move over to my photo gallery wall, which has been taken over by bats. If you look closely, you will see that in the photos we’re dressed-up with tiny little Halloween masks … and on some, we even have itty bity fangs.
On the couch are the Union Jack Pillows that I made.
Even the Unnamed Child and the pups were dressed-up for the occasion.
On the kitchen counter, we have “Sally the Sparkly Skull” wearing one of my grandmother’s vintage hats, with her buddy raven.
Next we will move on to Bessie with her Moolloween Makeover. A fancy hat and a rhinestone necklace makes any girl feel festive.
We move from Bessie to my newest furniture piece, this ivory and blue antique buffet.
I used some old mercury glass candlesticks, topped with some painted Dollar Tree Pumpkins. I also used a birdcage I found at a yard sale and put a glitzy black raven inside, which my husband thought would look weird … but it turns out he had to eat a little, um, crow (get it?).
The cloche is actually a topper to an old clock my mom was getting rid of, and I stuck a little fuzzy owl underneath. I filled an old apothecary jar I had full of little plastic skulls, and put some Dollar Tree, black, glittery flowers in my mercury glass vase. I spray painted some old shutters I found at a yard sale for $1 black, and then set them up as a backdrop. I then took some black letters from Hobby Lobby and spray painted them silver and coated them with the Glitter Blast. I then attached them to the shutters.
Last stop on the tour is outdoors.
Every couple of years, we add a new light up Halloween decoration to the family. We have Spooky Tree, Pumpkin Cat, the ghost and pumpkin pathway lights, and the light up spider is the newest member. I also made this Spooktacular Halloween Wreath on the front door.
Thank you all for stopping over and visiting my glitzy, gothic Halloween home tour. Make sure you head over to my other blogger friends Halloween Tours today, and while you’re there, tell them Shanna asked you stop by!

Looks awesome, Shanna! So spooky yet sophisticated. And girl, you need share buttons on your site at the bottom of each post. I want to share this one with the world!

Carrie you talked me into it. I now have share buttons. I would have had them before but when I tried to add them, they crashed my site. It worked today though! Thank you for reminding me and for any sharing in advance!

I hope I don’t cause your site to crash! But I LOVE the new share buttons. 😉 And it looks like others do, too. Great tour!

Wow, I can tell you love Halloween as much as I do. It’s a good thing we aren’t neighbors because all of the rest of the people in the ‘hood would be scared of us.
I love how “everyone” in your house is dressed for Halloween. Putting the witch hat on Bessie: just brilliant.
But I think my favorite thing may be your gallery wall. Love the masks and fangs. That must have been a hoot.
