It’s Themed Furniture Thursday my friends!
If you’re new here, this is where my blogging buddies and I choose a monthly theme (like this month’s Red, White and Blue) and do our own interpretation of it.
I love spring and summer because it’s yard sale season. I come across the majority of my furniture finds there, and I stock up for the the colder months of the year and keep them in my storage unit.
Last year I came across this cool console table that had these great claw feet. It’s the second piece I have recently run across with claw feet — if you remember my other little table from a few weeks ago.
This table was a dated color, and it was scratched all to heck with the name Jayden written all over it in black marker.
Jayden apparently loved this table.
I cleaned it up with some Simple Green and lightly sanded over the top with my trusty orbital sander.
I gave it a couple of coats of Decoart’s Chalky Finish Paint in Whisper.
After that had dried I gave it a coat of Americana Creme Wax, and then went over that lightly with Americana Dark Wax. Anywhere the dark wax looked too harsh I buffed it off with a little more of the clear wax.
I think it turned out pretty cute!
I’ll be taking it down to my booth tomorrow!

LOVE the dark wax on the cream base color! The finish is gorgeous and you found the perfect piece for this style of finish as well. You alwaysfind the best pieces! I want to go garage sale shopping with you! Have a good summer 🙂
