Happy Monday everyone!!!
I hope you had a great weekend! I cleaned (ugh), got some painting done, worked on two fun projects, a cool new project and one intended for today. Small problem … it didn’t work out. At all.
I was trying to glue two substances together, and no matter how hard I tried they repelled each other. Epic fail my friends.
So I will not be showing that today, but I do have some fun new little goodies that I have been meaning to show you.
Do you remember the blue opulence chandelier I bought off Craigslist a few months back? This is one of my favorite Craigslist finds ever, and Topher got that baby rewired and installed for me.
Let’s just say if we have a fire and every member of the family is out of the house, the firemen will have a hard time dragging me out because I will be busy unscrewing this from the ceiling.

Here she is in all her glory.

A while back, I showed you my stenciled burlap curtains. I loved them, but they were heavy and didn’t want to stay pulled back at all.
I knew I needed something to keep the curtains drawn, but the one’s I found were too modern for burlap curtains. Then I found these babies at Urban Outfitters, and I new it was meant to be.
Same curtains … the finials I had at the end of my curtain rods were way too boring, so while I was at Urban Outfitters, I found these Mercury Glass Finials that were perfect!

The last time I had showed you my kitchen, I recently purchased this new rug for underneath the kitchen table.
I liked it, but I wasn’t in love with it. The pictures I saw online were nowhere near the real-life colors, and it was just a bit too blah.
I also had not had time to work on the kitchen table and chairs that I have been hoarding in my basement.
So are you ready to see my new table now?
Yeah … well so am I, but sadly I still have been too busy with furniture orders to start on that bad boy, so I will not be showing you that.
I will, however, show you my awesome new rug that I found at Ballard Designs! Please disregard the super ugly table that I despise every time that I walk into the kitchen. I promise in the next couple of months I will force myself to get started on that. If you would like to get a mental picture of it, the legs and chairs will be the same blue that is in the carpet and the top of the table will be a stained a dark walnut color.
Can you see it now?

So in the last few months, I have completed a few projects for my own home. The Union Jack Table; the ivory and blue buffet; and the new ivory cabinet; and I (Topher) painted the dining room. So I am slowly making progress.
Here is my to do list:
- A new pendant light for the kitchen
- The kitchen needs painted
- Kitchen cabinets need painted
- The office needs painted
- I want to tile the hall bath
- Replace my vanity in the hall bath with a dresser
- Paint the hall bath
- Start the kitchen table and one for the dining room
- Then tackle the basement
Between my furniture business and the full time job of the blog, it is hard to have time to start any projects that don’t absolutely have to be finished. When you work from home, all of these home improvement projects that you haven’t completed are just staring you in the face all of the time. Any of the projects that I forced myself to complete this year, I have been so happy I did.
So I am going to try and remember that in the future, and we can meet back here in a few months and hopefully I will have a few more things crossed off my list by then!
Beautiful chandelier! The color is perfect! I know what you mean about those to-do lists. Mine just seems to get longer and longer. Sounds like you have some great plans and I’m sure you’ll get to them in good time. Have fun! Hugs, Leena
Gorgeous color! My to do list is getting out of hand. Today is the day to start! Happy Monday.
Lookin’ good all around. I can see why you would not want to leave that chandelier behind. Relate to you on the home projects. What is that saying… The cobbler’s children never have any shoes, or something? Looking forward to following along on your to do list!
The blue chandelier is BEAUTIFUL!!! Good luck on the “to-do” list…I feel your pain!! 😉
