Happy Memorial Day friends! I hope you have all been having a great weekend!
I’ve got exciting news for you today! If you have been following me for awhile you will know that I have a daughter. I have always referred to her as “the unnamed child” throughout the years, so I was able to freely tell stories about her without embarrassing her. Let’s face it, when your kid is in middle school, simply breathing in public will cause embarrassment for them, so for me to post photos or to write stories about her and have people know her name was completely off limits.
Fast forward a few years, and the “unnamed child” is now 20 and is now a little more lax on her rules.
When the great people over at Tobi sent us some goodies, we jumped at the chance to do our first mother daughter photo shoot!

We live in Kansas, and in the summer it is insanely hot and incredibly humid.
That being said, I don’t like to wear anything too tight or constrictive, and I live in sundresses.

This is Sydney. She’s 20 years old and a senior in college. I would say that Tobi’s age demographic leans more towards Syd’s age range than mine, but they definitely had a lot of pieces that I really liked, including some really pretty sundresses and maxi’s.
Syd chose this pretty little white Bella Lace Skater Dress.
She liked that she could wear it on its own or throw a jean jacket over it if she was heading out on a date where she knew she might be going to a restaurant that might be cold.
She also chose this adorable little Eve Off the Shoulder Skater Dress in this super cute blue gingham!
My hubby said it made her look like Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island, which got him a blank stare in return (wow we are old!).
This can be worn on or off the shoulders, and she loves that you can dress it up with heels or down with flip flops.
