Happy Friday my friends! Is it just me or did this week fly by? Seems like the whole week was spent running errands or going to appointments. This weekend is my little niece’s First Communion, so we are excited to see her experience that.
Topher and I started watching Tell Me Your Secrets on Amazon, and we are half way through and it is really good! I was waiting to watch Emily In Paris with the kiddo, but I finally gave up waiting and watched it on my own. It was really cute, and I watched the whole series in one night lol!
As you probably all know, Sephora is having their Spring Savings Event, and I’ve been getting a lot of questions on what my favorite hair and skincare products are, so I figured I would address it all in one central spot! Make sure you use code OMGSPRING to get your discount. Today I’m sharing my favorite hair products/styling tools, my Morning Skincare Routine and my Nighttime Skincare Routine.
Below are all of my must have haircare products. I have fine hair, but I do have a lot of it. That being said I don’t want products that weigh down my hair as I like it to have volume.
Earlier this year Ouai sent me a PR package of some of their products, and I have been hooked ever since! Their shampoo and conditioner are so good! It is a bit pricey, but a bottle goes a long way! Plus it smells so good!
I use their leave in conditioner after I get out of the shower and it helps detangle my hair and it also serves as a heat protectant. The Wave Spray is what I use when I’m trying to revive my curls a few days after I have curled it. It’s amazing how it perks them back up!
The Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast is what I spray at my roots to give my hair some extra lift and volume. It is perfect to revive a blow out after a few days.
If you haven’t tried any of the Olaplex products you are missing out! If you have dry, damaged or color treated hair this stuff is magic! If you’re wanting to dip your toe into just one product I would go with the Olaplex No3. You wet down your hair, and then let it set anywhere from 30 minutes to overnight depending on how much time you have. I almost always sleep in it, so I get the most bang for my buck. My hair is so soft and shiny after I use it. It strengthens and protects compromised hair from within, and restores a healthier appearance and texture.
The Olaplex No6 is a miracle styling creme and the only product I’ve found that actually allows me to air-dry my hair without frizz or kinks, delivers a smooth blowout, and helps protect.
The GHD Glide Smoothing Hot Brush is what I use before I use my flat iron. My curls are so tight near the root it makes it hard to get that close to my scalp with just my flat iron alone. I run this hot brush through my hair and it makes straightening it so much easier. If you have looser waves like my daughter, this brush alone would be enough to straighten your hair.
This Bioionic Flat iron is the best I have every used (and I have tried out a lot)! I first used one 8 years ago because my hairstylist swore by it. In the past all of the ones I had used left my hair frizzy. This one was amazing. It is a little pricey, but I have been using the same one for 8 years! Sometimes it’s worth it to invest in something that works great and you will have for years.
This Bioionic Long Barrel Curling Iron is my new favorite! If you have long hair this is perfect as all of your hair fits on the barrel. With this iron as well as the T3 iron I can curl my hair and have it last 5-6 days!
I have a very simple morning skincare routine. It consists of this cleanser, Vitamin C to brighten, a serum and either this Super Goop Sunscreen or this one from Dermalogica. Both lay perfectly under makeup.
My nighttime skincare routine is also fairly simple. Twice a week I exfoliate with this treatment and on the other nights I use this moisturizing cleanser. I then use these toning pads followed by the same Vitamin C I use in the morning. Twice a year I use the BeautyBio R45 System. If you are new to retinol or have a hard time acclimating to it this is a gradual 3 part system that allows your skin to gradually adjust to it without all of the redness and flaking.
I use the BeautyBio Micro needling Tool 2-3 times a week. You roll it over your face and it makes microscopic holes in the skin which allows your beauty products to absorb so much more effectively.
I have insanely dry skin and The Quench is one of the most effective moisturizers I have ever used! It is so rich and hydrating.
Every other night I use this Drunk Elephant product which is full of peptides, growth factors, and amino acids.
When I’m not using the R45 system, I use this retinol. It helps reduce fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots.
So that sums it up girls! It’s the perfect time to stock up while you can get a discount!
Make sure you check out what else is new!
