Today is Themed Furniture Day!!!
If you’re new to the blog, I’m part of a furniture tour where my friends and I choose a different theme each month and come up with our own interpretations. This month’s theme was Pottery Barn. Now I love Pottery Barn as much as the next guy, but quite frankly, I am too cheap to pay their prices.
I had been wanting to make a console table like the one below for quite awhile. When my brother told me that he had lots of leftover wood from tearing down his fence, I knew this would be the perfect project to use them on.
I don’t have a blueprint on how I made this because I wasn’t entirely sure this was going to work out. My brother and I just kind of winged it as we went along.
Here’s the inspiration: Connor Console Table
As I was building it, I planned on going over the planks of wood with a power washer to remove the years of wear and tear from the elements.
Once it was all built, I kind of liked all of the worn patina, but on the places where we had to make cuts, the wood looked too new, so we went over it with a mini torch.
Here is the finished project! Not bad for costing exactly nothing!
This would be a great table to use pallet wood on also.
