Today’s a big day!!!
I’m so excited to be part of a Valentine’s Day Blog Tour with 25 Fabulous bloggers!
Each day, five bloggers will showcase their home or a special project. After you stop by my home, please make sure you go visit the other ladies who are overflowing with creativity!
Lets start at the beginning.
I wanted a pop of color on my front door, so I made this Valentine’s Day Flower Wreath using flowers from Dollar Tree.
I was super happy with it until my mom was over at my house saying that she loved the wreath and wished she had something like that … which is when my “crafter’s guilt” kicked in.
I wanted her to have it, so I then I started over on another wreath for me.
Which brings us to my 3-Tiered Flower Wreath — also made from Dollar Tree flowers.
Now lets make our way into the living room and see my Valentine’s Day mantel.
Around my fireplace, I was able to put together a handful of other projects for the holiday. Over the mantel is my Yarn Heart Wreath, 3-D Valentine’s Day Letters, and my Valentine’s Day topiaries. Hanging across the front is a rag-tied garland — made from fabric scraps. And leaning against the hearth is a heart made from yards and yards (and yards) of ruffle ribbon attached to a barnwood plank.
Beside my mantel, I have my ivory cabinet all decked out in more Valentine’s Day decor.
I love mixing decor from different time periods as you can see in this vignette. I used old book pages to construct my Vintage Bookpage Heart Wreath; I redid my totally 80’s cabinet from an ugly green to a modern ivory and aqua; the draped scarf and wooden ball are in stores now; and I made my Dollar Tree Ombre Candleholders.
All three of these decorations on my aqua cabinet came from a yard sale for $1 a piece.
Moving to the other side of the living room, over to my buffet, you can see a few more pieces put together for Valentine’s Day: the Valentine’s Day Bookpage Garland, my living boxwood wreath where I hung some glitter heart ornaments, my Vintage Button Heart Art (using buttons passed-down when I inherited my grandmother’s sewing supplies), and I hung some little hearts on my little leftover Christmas trees.
Over on my gallery wall, I gave my antlers a little pizazz with a mini glitter garland.
I also took some old couch pillows I had and spruced them up with a couple of new pillow covers from Hobby Lobby and made some DIY Valentine PomPom Pillows (the tutorial on those will be posted tomorrow).
On the coffee table, I flanked my dough trough with my Valentine’s Day Ruffle Trees.
Bessie decided to get her Valentine’s Day groove on with her red glitter crown and red heart sunglasses. She’s so chic.
Over by the window above the sink, I attached some red glitter heart stickers on my metallic pine cone Christmas trees.
I found these little ornaments at a local store and strung them on some red ribbon to create a garland.
In the dining room, besides having Bessie looking stylish, I strung some hearts from the chandelier. I spray painted some wine bottles with red glitter to use as candleholders on my new turquoise dining set.
I brought out my pink scarf, laid out my bird cage with a little pink bird inside, and put some pretty pink flowers in a vase I had.
And I think that pretty well wraps-up my Valentine’s Day Home Tour for this year!
I can definitely tell it’s a cow now! Bessie is absolutely adorable all decked out for Valentine’s Day. I envy your bright and bold decorating style. It always looks so awesome!
Thank you so much Denise! Bessie definitely gets noticed that’s for sure! Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thanks Crystal! Sometimes you have to have a bit of humor in your house!
Bessie is the best! I had a great grandmother named Bessie…she was a goodie too. Your home tour is great, Shanna!!
Thank you my dear! Have a happy Valentine’s Day!
I love how you re-purposed your Christmas trees by giving them a Valentine’s touch! Also loved how you used the red glitter paint to make plain glass bottles into a beautiful centerpiece for the dining table. I thought the vintage looking Valentine $1 garage sale decorations were perfect on your turquoise table. Your blog proves that by using some imagination, anyone can make their house look festive for holidays without costing a fortune.
And Bessie, what can I say? She’s a star! Great tour, Shanna!
