It’s almost June, and you know what that means? Wedding season!
I’ve hosted several wedding showers in the past, and all of the party supplies at the chain stores just don’t seem to cut it. When I host a shower, I like it to be more personalized to the couple, and Shutterfly is just the answer!
When I decorate, I love mixing new pieces with unique, vintage items, and that is what I decided to do with my latest shower.
As a hostess, you want the party to be beautiful without breaking the bank, so it’s always good to incorporate items that you already own. I happened to have a vintage dust ruffle in the basement, and I decided to use that as the tablecloth. I also had two vintage suitcases, so I decided to paint them turquoise to use as risers to add some height to the table.
On one of the turquoise suitcases, I put a display of delicious cupcakes and used some vintage, blue mason jars as vases — I love adding fresh flowers to any table for a bright pop of color.
I took three old frames from the basement storeroom and painted them with spray paint. I then ordered posters of the couple to put inside — these all happen to be 16 x 20.
On the other suitcase, I set a bright pink bust and a decorative greeting card holder. I ordered some black and white prints of the couple and attached them to some scrapbook paper that I had left over from a prior project.
Since this was an outdoor party, I didn’t want to worry about having a messy cake to deal with, but I still wanted a centerpiece.
I made a cake by covering three hatboxes with moss I found at the local craft store, and then I attached more black and white prints in cute frames to the “cake”.
I topped it off with a pink birdcage with a vintage cake-topper inside. I will be showing you the tutorial for the cake later in the week.
With the low cost of Shutterfly’s color prints, I ordered quite a few photos of the couple, and I made a runner out of the collection.
Using some cardboard letters, I removed the front side, filled them with florist foam, spray painted them pink, and then covered them in artificial flowers — I spelled out MR & MRS.
For the cookies, I used a vintage kitchen scale and topped it with a pretty floral plate.
I took scrapbook paper, made into funnels, set mini donuts inside and place them in an old birdcage.
From a yard sale, I picked-up this great, old front to a vintage medicine cabinet. I removed the mirror, strung wire across it, and made it into an Instagram frame — which is super simple to do with the Shutterfly iPhone app. It can pull in your Instagram photos, allow you to place your order, and then ship the prints right to your door!
I bundled fallen branches from our twisted willow tree and spray painted them gold. I set them in a vase I had and used mini clothes pins to attach vintage family wedding photos to them to make a Wedding Portrait Family Tree.
I love that you can incorporate family members that have passed and honor them at your wedding.

Did you know that you can order your own custom phone case? Who doesn’t have a cell phone? I love that you can upload your own photos to make your own case, and you can even monogram it!
You can also make coasters! They have a no slip back and would also make a great gift for the wedding party!
I also ordered the couple an 8 X 11 photo book as a wedding gift. In the past, I have ordered photo books from other companies, but Shutterfly’s are far superior.
All-in-all, I was thrilled with how this turned out!
I was surprised at how I was able to decorate almost entirely from items I already owned! Between my vintage items, and the customizable items from Shutterfly, I was able to really personalize this shower to the couple.

I loved the gorgeous 16 X 20 framed pictures attached to the trees – the colors are so vibrant with the woodsy background. The pale turquoise suitcases made such a great base for your scrumptious shower treats. The hot pink bust gave the table a pop of color & I adored the vintage wedding photos on your
