With Valentine’s Day creeping up on us, I have been a glittery, gluing fool. I seriously think it is forever embedded in my skin. Even poor Topher can’t go anywhere without people pointing out glitter on his face. Not too professional for a banker.
While I was painting inside over this past weekend, he did some serious painting outside for me. It’s a big project that isn’t quite finished yet, but I’m struggling because I’m so excited to show you!
Let’s move on to a project that is recently wrapped-up:
My 3-D Valentine’s Day Letters (aka the red glitter implosion)
I found my 3-D letters at JoAnn‘s. I got XOXO, but you could get whatever letters you choose.
First I gave them 2 coats of pink spray paint.
Once the spray paint dried, I started taping-off various patterns. I used Frog Tape’s Shape Tape to create a chevron pattern on my first letter.
On the second letter, I used different size circle stickers.
On the third letter I used regular Frog Tape to tape off vertical stripes.
On the last letter, I cut diamonds out of the same Frog Tape Shape Tape (super easy to do since it was angled to begin with).
I then went over all of the letters with two coats of Krylon Glitter Blast in Cherry Bomb.
Here is the finished project!
This is just phase one of my Valentine’s Day mantel, so don’t worry if you think it is still a little bare. I have more up my sleeve my friends … just you wait.
On another note, I’m guest hosting The Scoop linky party today, so don’t forget to go by and link up — or just check out all of the fabulous creativity!
