Thirty under $30

Happy Friday friends!

It’s been a busy week around here! My niece had a few days where she didn’t have daycare and hadn’t started kindergarten yet, so we had a few fun days together! We went and saw Hotel Transylvania 3 and the Incredibles 2, both of which were very cute. There were also many hours filled with Lite-Brite, Play-Dough, Polly-Pocket, and we watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which is apparently timeless because that was my daughter’s favorite movie almost 20 years ago.

Our kiddo starts her senior year of college on Monday. By the time you reach your senior year, you are pretty burnt out, but I keep trying to encourage her to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This weekend we are going to be working around the house and still working our way through Scandal. We watched one episode the other night that almost gave me an anxiety attack!

You all loved my last couple of rounds of Thirty under $30, so I’m thinking about making it a weekly post. Would you rather have Thirty under $30 or Fifty under $50? Or should I switch it up? Let me know what you think!…

End of Summer Deals and Puppy Pics

Happy Friday friends!

It seems everywhere I go this week, from Target, to the grocery store all I see are busy mamas out there getting their kids ready to go back to school. I am glad those days are behind me! Technically, my daughter has one year left (she’s going to be a senior in college), and I do have to buy her crazy expensive books … but other than that there’s nothing that I am in charge of.

I can remember her first day of kindergarten as clear as day though. Topher and I were so worried about her, and we both went into work late so we could go in with her, in case she freaked out. We walked in with her, found her table, and she started playing with a couple of little girls. She then looked up at us and said “You can go now” and that was it.

We were a little shocked that was all there was too it. Yes, I realize we were lucky that there was no melt down or sad, scared tears, but I think it was the first time we really felt unnecessary to her … which was a little sad too.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Dupes

Happy Friday friends! This week seemed to fly by!

This weekend I’m shooting some new looks, and my 4 year old niece is coming for a sleepover. I promised her we would take her to see Hotel Transylvania 3 and that we would do a little swimming (that is if it doesn’t rain!).

I know that many of you weren’t able to shop the Nordstrom Early Access Sale, since you might not have a Nordstrom Card. Sadly this year, once the sale was open to the public, they didn’t restock all of the items that had already sold out — which was extensive. I also know that many of you (like me) are on a budget and couldn’t buy everything that we wanted from the sale.

Best of Nordstrom Home Sale

Happy Sunday friends! I hope you all are having a great weekend! We had a big family dinner over at my mom’s last night. With my 3 nieces (a 4 year old, and twin 20 month olds) things are always lively! The twins discovered my mom’s dog bed and wanted Topher (my hubby) to pull them all around the house in it. Topher and I went and saw Won’t You Be My Neighbor which is the documentary about Mr. Rogers. I highly recommend it! The movie was all about his interesting life and the changes he made in the world.

I’ve been feeling under the weather the past few days, so Topher and I started watching Scandal. Yes I know we are the last people on earth to watch it, but we now see what all the hype was about! It’s addicting! I have terrible insomnia, and it takes all of my self control not to keep watching after Topher has gone to bed!

As we all know, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has opened to the public, and everyone has focused on the fashion side of the sale. Some of the best deals are also on the home decor side! There are some perfect items for wedding and Christmas gifts. I like to pick out some neutral items and stock my gift closet so I’m never unprepared! …

It’s finally here! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale will be open to the public in 2 hours! That means whether you have a Nordstrom card or not you are free to shop at 2 am on the 2oth! So if you are just waking up in the morning get shopping! I would start with shoes and denim since those seem to be the two items that are selling out the quickest! 10 Must Have Undergarments If You’re Over 30

Happy Thursday friends! I’m a little under the weather, so I decided to get caught up on some work. Lately, I have been receiving a lot of questions about what type of undergarments I wear under different types of clothing. I decided since there was so much interest I would cover it all in one post!

Once you enter into you 30’s and 40’s, your weight starts to distribute a little differently (at least mine has!) It’s harder for us to build muscle and sadly we gain a little more weight around the waist, hips or thighs. Sometimes in all 3 places! That can mean that our undergarment needs can change.

These days I’m less concerned with quantity and more concerned with quality. I’m all about anything that can suck me in or lift me up that isn’t insanely uncomfortable. I’ve gone through a lot of trial and error over the last few years trying out different bras and undies that are not only functional but comfortable. There were so many items that I ended up returning or throwing away because they were just not cutting it.
