I’ve been struggling for a long time on what color to paint my front door.
Not the outside, but the inside of the door.
Now I know this is not an earth shattering problem to be solved, but when I sit right in front of it working day in and day out, it was one that needed a solution….
I have a confession.
You know how Fixer Upper mania has swept the nation? Of course you do, unless you have been living under a rock for the past two years. I too am a huge fan, and I even braved the crowds to go see them last year in Kansas City.
Like everyone else, I adore all of Chip and JoAnna’s shiplap walls, french doors, and all of their farmhouse flare.
The part I am confessing to is the fact that I myself haven’t jumped on the farmhouse bandwagon.
Gasp! I know!
While I do have elements of farmhouse style incorporated in my home, my predominate style would definitely not be farmhouse. While I swoon at some of the gorgeous farmhouse homes of some of my friends, I like to add a bit more glamour, like blinged out chandeliers, curvy french mirrors and a little Hollywood Regency here and there….

Happy Monday my friends! As I mentioned last week, I’m over the moon excited to be hosting this Home Depot #DIHWorkshop Virtual Party.

For the last couple of years, I have been working on sprucing up the inside of the house and have totally neglected the outside. With my daughter’s graduation open house coming up in a few weeks, I realized that people will be seeing the outside as well, so I better do a few things to brighten things up.
On the front step, I have my Fairy Garden which gives a little bit of color, but it’s not really something you can see from the street, so I knew I wanted a bold color and something that had a bit of height to it.
The project that inpired me for the party is this super cute 3 Tier Gutter Planter….

Now if you’re new here, this is where me and my bloggy buddies each have a $10 budget, and we spend it at the thrift store, and the goodies we buy there get sent on to a friend who DIY’s the holy heck out of them.
It’s amazing to see the creativity all of these women have. Sometimes the items you receive are challenging, folks. Like, sit-there-staring-at-the-stuff-for-weeks challenging. Like, you wonder if you somehow ticked the person who sent the things to you off challenging. Other times, you know right off the bat what you are going to transform the pieces into.
I had a little of both this time.
Now if you remember, this is the third time I have taken part in this tour. The first time I had a bowl and a place mat to work with. The second time I had some totally 70’s coasters.
This time the lovely Tania from Run to Radiance sent me my box of goodies….

The Home Depot offers Workshops at all of their store locations. There are three types of Workshops: Do-It-Yourself (DIY), Do-It-Herself (DIH), and Kids. If you have little ones, you have to take them! Seeing how proud they are after creating their own project is the cutest!
I know a lot of ladies get intimidated when it comes to power tools. I used to be one of them. Getting free hands-on training will show you that it’s not as difficult or as scary as it looks.
I love that The Home Depot is empowering women, kids, and the not-so-handy hubbies to tackle home decor projects, easy home repairs, and how to safely operate tools with step-by-step instruction.

Don’t you just love Spring? The flowers blooming, the birds chirping, warm weather, and most important of all … yard sales begin.
Everyone in the house is happy. I’m able to open the windows, the unnamed child and her boyfriend are able to do more activities outdoors, even the pups are happy because they get to go on walks.
Being the lover of color that I am, I feel even more free to add more pops of color this time of year. Today, some of my bloggy buddies and I are sharing our Spring home decor ideas!
Brightly colored flowers just make the house feel fresh and alive.
I was excited when my mom brought me the bouquet down below for Easter, and they really give my coffee table the pizzaz I am looking for.
I also added some faux greenery to an urn that I picked up at a vintage sale last year and to my little terrarium thing that I have had for awhile….
