Cute, festive pumpkins sit on every porch in my neighborhood, and I was having a little pumpkin envy.
I took care of that yesterday. I found two white pumpkins — one was a little scarred up, but it was the best I could do since all the others were lopsided, not white, or warty (who wants a warty pumpkin?) .
They seemed a bit boring, so I decided to spice them up a bit (get it? spicing up my pumpkins?). I dug out my leftover garage sale stickers and my daughter and I stuck them all over, making sure to get them on securely. On the other pumpkin we took our 3M painter’s tape and striped down the sides.
Next we took some metallic gold paint and did a light coat of paint and then 20 minutes later did one more coat. I let it dry for 2 hours and removed the stickers and tape. On the tape, remove it slowly. If you don’t it will take your paint off with it (that is why I am only showing you one side of my pumpkin, on one stripe I got too excited and went too fast).
I think they turned out pretty cute.
