It’s Thursday here … well actually it’s Wednesday night, but since I will be up going to yard sales at 6 am on Thursday, I am writing this the night before.
If you saw my post from yesterday (actually today — but yesterday to you), you saw my post on Vintage Chic Wedding Shower ideas.
One of my favorites were the flower filled 3-D letters. I picked-up these cardboard letters at Jo-Anns. I think they were around $4 a piece, but I used my 40% off coupons so they weren’t too pricey.
First thing I did Topher did was cut them in half.
After they were all cut in half, I spray painted them a light pink.
I then filled them with florist foam (I found mine at Dollar Tree). I will tell you … this stuff was harder to cut then I thought. Make sure you use a sharp knife and lots of caution.
Once all of the letters were filled with foam, I started attaching the flowers.
When I cut each flower off, I left about one inch of stem attached, and that is what I stuck into the foam.
I got my flowers at Dollar Tree, also, to keep down the expense, since you do need quite a few. You could use bigger flowers, so you wouldn’t have to use as many.
Just keep filling them in until all of the foam is covered.
That’s it! A really simple project, and you can spell out whatever you would like!
As you all know, I vowed to get healthy in 2014. I had 10 lbs I wanted to get rid of, but couldn’t find an exercise routine or program that I could stick with.
A few weeks ago, my friend Allison (from The Golden Sycamore) let me know about this program she had started called The Bikini Body Mommy Challenge.
It’s a stay-at-home mom who, during the course of having 3 babies, gained more than 100 lbs. She developed an exercise program and a meal program (I don’t do the meal program). The workouts are only 20 minutes long, and you can watch them on YouTube.
She does it step by step with you, documenting her weight loss along the way. It is a 90 day program, and in that time she lost the 100lbs.
A lot of times, I tell myself that I am too busy to lose an hour out of my day to go to the gym, but with her workouts only being 20 minutes, I really have no excuse … and I can do them in my pj’s if I want to (although I would recommend throwing on a sports bra).
These workouts really get your heart going, and I am only on day 8 and can tell a big difference in my body already.
I would love you to join along with me on this journey.
I need some accountability and would love to hear your input on these workouts.
There are 2 different exercise programs: the Bikini Body Mommy Challenge and the 2.0 version. I have tried a couple of the the 2.0 workouts, and I personally don’t like them as well.
I will warn you, on day one the first thing she has you do is take a picture of yourself in a bikini (or bra and underwear) — front view, side view and back and measure yourself.
Now I knew things weren’t great before the pictures, but I apparently didn’t know how bad they were.
You go back at 30,60 and 90 days and take new pictures.
Now if you are a huge fitness buff, these workouts might not be enough for you — they totally are for me though.
She gives you modifications on each exercise, and some I have to modify and some I don’t. I will never have the upper body strength to do regular “boy” pushups, so I do mine on my knees.
Each day I will try to write about what I thought of each day’s workout, and check in with all of you that join me. Will there be a day or two when I skip a workout? Probably, but for the most part I am really going to try to stick with it, and hopefully you will join me along the way.
Tomorrow (today) I will be starting with the review of day one!
