Happy Friday my friends!!!
Can you believe it’s almost Halloween? Time has been flying by, and it will be Christmas before we know it!
I go on a business trip early next week, and when I get back it will be the unnamed child’s 18th birthday. How the heck can my child be 18? When she was little, I remember people telling me it all goes by so fast. When you’re in the middle of dealing with the terrible twos, or the God awful thing that makes your 12 year old daughter mean as hell called puberty, it seems like things are going by pretty darn slow.
Now here we are, with her becoming an adult and graduating in December, and I know what they mean about it all going by in a blink.
Don’t you wish that there was a way to do parenting do overs? Certain moments that you could go back and do differently? I know I do. Overall I don’t think we screwed her up too badly. She doesn’t hate us, didn’t drop out of school, and doesn’t hurt small animals, so I would call that a win.
I think the worst part about her turning 18 is that if she’s that old, I am freaking ancient.
She’s happy that she can now say she’s an adult, legally have a glass of wine in many foreign countries, and that she can vote and buy lottery tickets if she wants. I’m happy that I no longer have to chauffer her and her friends around, pack school lunches, do her laundry, and go to parent teacher conferences.
So while we both are getting older, there are some bright sides to it.
On to my favorite pins of the week!
