Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope you all had a great Easter weekend!
The unnamed child had Friday off from school, so we watched the second to the last Harry Potter movie that night (Book 7, Part 1). Now, I know that I was the last person on the planet to read the Harry Potter series, so I am just now getting caught up on the movies. Just like any series, the books are better than the movies, but these are still good.
Saturday we got up early to get the house cleaned for guests on Sunday. After a busy day of scrubbing from top to bottom, we went to the Easter Vigil, which didn’t start until 8PM, and didn’t end until 10. Since we had attended our Easter service, we considered it officially Easter and drove straight to Walgreens and got my favorite ice cream (since I had given up chocolate for Lent).
Sunday, we went to my in-law’s for lunch and then headed straight home to host my family. On my side, all we had were appetizers and dessert since most of us had already had a big meal. It was fun spending time with my sweet little niece (she learned how to crawl last week!).
We ended Easter Sunday with the kiddo and I watching the last in the Harry Potter series.
So all-in-all a really good weekend, and it’s so nice to have a clean house!
One little goodie that I picked up at yard sales last week was this…
I’m not even sure what to call it actually. A little towerish shelf?
Anyway, it was black, chipped up, and really dirty.
I cleaned it all up and then painted it with two coats of Grey Silk Plaster Paint.
Once the paint was dry, I distressed the whole piece to let the black underneath shine through.
How was your weekend? Any fun traditions? Or did anything crazy happen?
I would love to know, just leave a comment down below!

What a great find Shanna – I would have been jumping for joy. Looks so much better painted and distressed.
