Happy Hump Day my friends!  I hope the weather is as beautiful where you are as it has been in Kansas lately. We are definitely grateful for the cool forecast as we are in the middle of painting our house (ourselves). Not a fun job, although I have to admit Topher is taking one for the team and doing most of the hard work. Ladders and I do not go hand in hand — I have a serious case of acrophobia people.

Topher and I are going on a trip in a couple of weeks!  I have started going through my wardrobe to figure out what I’m going to be taking, plus I might have picked up a couple of new things.

Hello my friends!

I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day! Topher made me a yummy brunch that included a delicious bananas foster breakfast casserole … which I will try to remember to share soon. With the unnamed child going to college full time, working two jobs, and having a boyfriend, I feel like I hardly ever see her. I did get to spend a few hours with her on Mother’s Day, and she brought me flowers and some cute earrings, so my day was perfect.

The warm weather is finally here! As much as I love all of the sunshine, it also means that the countdown is on to having to expose more skin!

While I’m still trying to get this old body back into shape, one of my favorite options is the good old maxi dress.

You can’t go wrong with one of these!

My other favorite trend this spring is stripes.

The two combined doesn’t get much better for me!  Slap on some self tanner, sunglasses and wedges and you’re good to go to any wedding, graduation or vacation….

Hello my friends!

Did you think I died?

I thought I was going to for awhile. I had one of the worst viruses in the history of the planet. This was a headache, body aches, joint pain, and coughing so hard I thought my lungs would break kind of virus. The best part? IT LASTED 6 WEEKS!!! How does anything last 6 weeks?

So if you ask me about anything that has gone on in the world in the last 6 weeks, I wouldn’t have a clue because I have been sleeping 20 hours a day. Literally 20 hours a day people.

I’m finally getting better … but the sucky cough is still lingering.

Moving on.

Do you follow any fashion blogs? I follow a lot but have struggled with the fact that most of them are 21 years old, have zero fat, zero wrinkles, gravity has not affected their firm little bodies, and they are a size zero. An actual zero. Not to knock any of them because to be young, skinny and beautiful is a wonderful thing. Once upon a time, I too looked pretty good.

What I have been searching for in these fashion blogs are people that actually look like me. You know, over 40, someone over a size 2, someone that has some hips because their metabolism has slowed way down, and someone who has to search for flattering clothes because not everything looks great on them because they aren’t as small as they once wore.

And the last thing?

A blog where everything they are wearing isn’t over $700. Surely I can’t be the only one that’s on a budget?

I decided that I am going to start sharing some of my fashion finds for you.

I know a lot of you are busy mama’s, work outside the home, or both. I figure I can share what fits me and is cute on my less-than-stellar body, so that maybe you won’t have to spend hours at the mall trying on outfit after outfit, and all you have to do is click on my links, be taken right to the product, and a few days later it arrives at your door!
