Yesterday, since it was so lovely out, I decided to do a little shopping. Do you ever go into a store and find something you love, but you get frustrated at the outrageous prices? Well the store I went into had this gorgeous nautical table set up, and while I did splurge on the pretty dishes, I couldn’t afford the whole table setting.
There were these darling little coastal napkin rings, and I was pretty sure that I could duplicate them at home….

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! We only celebrated with my side of the family since my in-laws were out of town this year. We hosted dinner at our house, and since it actually snowed here, we had to have the Easter egg hunt for my 2 year old niece indoors. I bought a pretty sundress and shoes to wear, and I woke up to a winter wonderful. Needless to say my original outfit was out of the question, and I had to wear boots and a sweater.
Ugh.
Dinner went off without a hitch, and my cousin has a sweet new baby, so we got to fight over who got to hold him.
The one good thing about hosting a holiday at your house … is that you are forced to deep clean your house.
Speaking of sprucing things up, I have a little table makeover to show you today….
Who among my friends is a procrastinator like I am?
If you are like me, you always have way too much on your list, and your holiday decor consists of what you can whip-up an hour before your guests arrive.
Today’s project fits that description, my friends.
Like the majority of you, I am a lover of all things Target Dollar Spot. It’s like Dollar General on steroids, and I for one am an addict. I tend to pick things up there and tuck it back into my craft hoard knowing, that I will someday use it.
That is what happened in the case of these burlap flags….

With all of the furniture makeovers that I do, the pieces I keep tend to be a bit more on the glamorous side, with lots of carving like my vintage buffet and my turquoise dining set. I know with Fixer Upper taking over the world, simple pieces are definitely trending.
When I received this vintage sewing cabinet from a friend, I knew it hard more of a farmhouse feel to it….
Hello my friends! It’s a busy week around here as I am getting some last minute projects finished, painting on the house, and getting the house cleaned up for my family heading over here for Easter. This year, I’ve tried to keep my Easter decor simple by adding in a few new things while the majority of items are things I dug out of storage.
For my vintage buffet, I just pulled out all of my candlesticks and a heart that I received awhile back from Olive Wood Designs….

I painted. And painted, and painted. I am so sick of painting I could die. As much as I love painting furniture, I hate painting walls just as much. You would think I would be getting a good night’s rest with as much work as I’ve been doing, but my stinkin back and shoulders hurt so much I can’t sleep.
I know, I know … poor me.
If that’s the worst thing I’ve got going, I’m doing alright.
Last night, we were designing the unnamed child’s graduation announcements. I can’t believe that we are doing that. Seems like just yesterday we were teaching her to ride a bike — oh yeah, we never taught her to ride a bike. The first time she fell off she threw the bike across the yard and never got on again. So when they say it’s just like riding a bike, but for her that means throwing a hissy fit and calling us the worst parents ever for causing her horrible, serious injury (which was actually just a scraped knee).
