I will be taking-off for the Haven Bloggers Conference in Atlanta on Thursday morning. It has been a hellaciously hot week here in the 100’s, and I would like to think I am going somewhere cooler … but that is probably not the case.
My flight leaves at 5 freaking AM, and for someone that has extreme insomnia and doesn’t usually go to sleep until 4 am, I’m guessing it means I will be arriving without having gone to sleep.
Being from Kansas, I know what humidity is. Atlanta gives a whole new meaning to humidity. I fight my natural curl daily, but down there it is a battle this girl just can’t win. I bring out the big guns with every anti-frizz product known to man, and once it’s styled I spray it within an inch of its life, and by the time I reach the hotel lobby I have Diana Ross’s hair and not in a good way.
So between the 8 lb bags under my eyes from zero sleep, my spray tan that will be melting off in a puddle at my feet, and my ginormous hair, people are going to talk about the crazy freak show from Kansas. So I will do the only sane thing I can do, which is to “hydrate” myself with whatever alcoholic beverage I can get my hands on, so that I don’t care about all of the staring.
On the brighter side, I will be taking lots of classes, such as photography classes, how to write a book, advertising, and lots of DIY classes from companies like Kreg, Home Depot, and Behr. The best part is being able to hang out with all of my blogging buddies that I am only able to see once a year.
