What do you think? Do you love the makeover as much as I do?
Restoration Redoux’s new look has taken Topher and I about 2 months of dabbling here and there to get this design where we wanted it. It still has some tweaking left to do, but I couldn’t wait any longer to show you.
Since neither my dear hubby nor I are graphic designers, it took us months to do what a real designer could have done in a weekend.
I know a lot of bloggers shell out $500-$700 on someone designing one, but I am too cheap to do that. Plus it is SO hard to convey what is in your head to someone else, let alone a stranger (there is some scary stuff floating in here folks).
I have to give Topher kudos for interpreting what was in this head of mine. There were lots of conversations like this:…
Happy Humpday everyone! I know it’s only Wednesday, but I am so ready for this cold week to be over. I guess I now have the motivation to work out … just so that I can warm up.
Running a furniture business, I like to try out various new techniques and finishes.
Sometimes, I can stare at a piece for quite a while wondering what sort of transformation it needs. What sort of finish can I give it while still making it stand apart from the rest.
When I found this table (a neighbor had next to the dumpster), I was stumped on what to do with this little fella….
Yesterday was a cold one here, and I know most of you are dealing with freezing temperatures there as well.
We got some snow but not a massive amount like some of you. We just had crazy wind and below-frigid temperatures.
That’s not good news when you have projects that need to be spray painted and Christmas lights that needed to be taken down. Sadly, all of the Christmas decor is now stored away, and my house looks naked and bare.
Yesterday was not the best day for me. I had a massive migraine, and I am pretty sure I broke my toe. Topher was nagging at me about my craft room being out of control (not that he was wrong … but still).
So I was clearing-off one of the shelves, and my heavy brass owl fell off and landed on my toe. It was the kind of pain where you can’t even produce a sound it hurts that bad, which is good because you wouldn’t have wanted to know the words that were floating through my head at the time. It is amazing at how much pain can be produced from such a teeny body part….
Where did 2013 go?
It seemed to have passed by in a flash! It’s been a crazy busy year with lots of new things: I was a contributor at some amazing blogs (The Girl Creative, The Everyday Home and Simply Designing), I could hardly keep up with my furniture orders (which was great) and I ventured into new territory like working on campaigns with a lot of different companies.
On the home front, the unnamed child learned to drive (and I had suffered several anxiety attacks), we went on our amazing cruise, the animals kept life exciting as always and I’m not sure where the time went.
I just want to thank each and every one of you for your encouraging and supportive comments throughout this last year. Every Facebook project you like, comment you make and retweet you do makes this blog grow bigger. I appreciate all of you who take a minute out of your day to see my work, and sometimes just have a conversation with me.
When my aunt passed away this year you blew me away with all of your love and support and I thank you. Though I have not met most of you face to face, I do consider what I have with many of you a friendship. There are thousands of blogs out there that you could be clicking over to, but I am so grateful you visit this.
As we are reminiscing, I thought we might go back and review my most popular projects last year….
I bought a phone case and headphones from Best Buy as part of a
sponsored post for Collective Bias. #OneBuyForAll
Christmas came and went in a flash this year.
It turned out lovely, and we got to spend time with both sides of the family.
Although Christmas is all about family and friends, it is nice to get a few new goodies under the tree. As all of my Instagram followers know, my phone is always with me. I take tons of pictures and am able to check on my blog and emails at any time.
Even though my iPhone 4 still works fine, I wanted to upgrade to the 5 since it has a better camera, takes better pictures, has a clearer screen, etc.
Well, guess what was waiting under the tree for me? You guessed it: an iPhone 5 from Best Buy! Woohoo!
One of the first things you need when you get a new phone is a new case. If you’re like me, besides protecting your phone, you also want it to be cute….
