Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

As you all know Mother’s Day is right around the corner. For me this usually involves my hubby making a lovely brunch, and I spend the day with my family watching movies (things we don’t usually have time for as a family).

For many years we had the same routine, a few weeks before Mother’s Day I would start subtly dropping hints about things I was wanting, hoping he or my daughter would catch on. Year after year they never did, and then I would be surprised with some weird gift that I didn’t like and would never use. (I know this makes me sound like an ungrateful shrew, but I just felt like it was wasteful to spend a lot of money on something that would just sit there on a shelf for years to come). So after years of this routine I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started making lists of items I wanted, and I would pass it along to my family, that way I was still getting a surprise (which they liked) because I didn’t know which item they were getting me, and I was still happy because I wanted all of these items, so any of them was a winner in my book.

It was a win win situation, so we have continued to stick with that routine.
