This post was written on behalf of DecoArt. Any opinions are strictly my own. I found this coffee table at a yard sale a couple of months ago. Guess what they were asking for it? A whopping $10! I love the lines and pretty carved legs. Unfortunately, the finish was in bad shape, and I didn't like how dark it was. ... VIEW POST
Chalky Finish Coffee Table
Ivory Two-Toned Dresser
Happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend! We had a fun BBQ over at a friend's house Friday night. Saturday, we took the pups to get groomed, and then we had a wedding to attend that evening. Thank goodness it wasn't an outdoor wedding because it was in the triple digits here. Sunday was full of cleaning and painting. I was feeling a little blue on Sunday as it was the one year anniversary of the wreck that lead to my aunt's death. There have been so many times over this last year ... VIEW POST
Retro Dresser Turned TV Console
Today is the last day of school!!! No more getting up early, scrambling to get clothes washed the night before and nagging about homework and grades. The kiddo is not one of those kids who gets bored after a week of summer and is ready for school again. She soaks in every last minute of it. She's ready to have friends over, hang out at the pool and watch movies with me until late at night. And I am excited to have someone help me around here with my furniture projects. The kid is turning ... VIEW POST
Mediterranean Mirror Makeover
We are going to travel back in time today to one of the very first makeover pieces. It was a ginormous, ugly, Mediterranean dresser I found off Craigslist. The one my hubby told me was "total crap", and to "just walk away", and "it smells really bad" (OK ... I'll give him that last one)? Then when we nearly killed ourselves loading up this incredibly heavy thing, in 100 degree heat -- he gave me the death glare? Then when the car started stinking like rotten eggs, he muttered at me ... VIEW POST
My New Ivory Cabinet (HomeRight Paint Sprayer Review)
Happy Monday everyone!!! How was your weekend? I spent time reorganizing all my hoarded furniture in the basement, cleaning-up, I went to see my sweet baby niece, the unnamed child and I watched Snow White and the Huntsman (which was pretty good until the last 5 seconds), and I finished this next furniture piece. I found this green cabinet at a yard sale. ... VIEW POST
A Makeover 15 Years in the Making
While getting ready for my Halloween Home Tour, I pulled an old buffet out of my basement that had been sitting there for quite a while. We've moved it with us, from home to home, for over 15 years, and during that time it was used for all sorts of purposes, and stored all sorts of goodies. Up until two weeks ago, it was in storage being used for stashing old photos, and there were tons of currently-not-in-use-just-waiting-for-the-perfect-spot things stacked on top. The top was badly ... VIEW POST
Chalk Paint® Review and Buffet Makeover
A few weeks back, I heard from the wonderful group at Annie Sloan Unfolded, asking if I would do a project and a follow-up review for them. My immediate reaction was "Heck Yes!" As you all know, I have completed a million different furniture pieces in this last year, and I am always looking for new and different techniques and products. My all time favorite paint line is Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan. I have had a number of questions wondering why I use that brand of ... VIEW POST
