Now that I’m finished with my latest painting project (my living room, hallways, stairway, and dining room), I’m getting ready to tackle my powder room.

I’m searching for inspiration everywhere … and Chip and Joanna are topping the list.

While combing through all of their amazing bathrooms on all three seasons of the show, I decided to show you my choices for their Top 10 Fixer Upper Bathrooms.

I can’t decide which I love more in this room, the fabulous flooring , the gorgeous countertops or the amazing planked wall.

Easy Ways to Update Your Outdoor Areas

When we moved into our house, the first thing I dove into fixing up was the interior. That’s the area that constantly surrounds you and makes you feel relaxed and at home, so it makes sense that’s where you would start.

So after we had lived here for a couple of years, we started to realize that we could see the interior … but people on the outside couldn’t. Anytime we had visitors to our home, their first impression was what the exterior looked like. The outside area of our home was blah. Too much tan, and not enough color gave it zero curb appeal….

Top 10 Fixer Upper Living Rooms

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, pretty much everyone knows who I’m talking about when I say the names Chip and Joanna. They are this super cute, everyday couple who have hit mega stardom. We love them because they not only seem like they could be your best friend next door neighbors, but because they are hard workers that had that hard work pay off for them. They are incredibly talented, totally into each other, and they make us laugh to top it off. They create spaces that we all want to live in. They don’t create fancy rooms that would make you feel like you have to follow your toddler around with a towel under his mouth, so he doesn’t spill on your pristine white rugs. They create beautiful but cozy, lived-in looking spaces that make us all want to get rid of all our belongings and move in right now. Spaces where you can envision you and your hubby curled up on the comfy sofa, watching tv in front of your newly madeover 20 ft. fireplace.

If you’re like me, you can’t wait until the next episode of HGTV’s Fixer Upper airs, and between seasons you go back and rewatch all of the old ones.

Since I’ve been redoing my living room, that is what I have had on the brain lately. I decided to go back throughout the different seasons and choose my top 10 favorite Fixer Upper living rooms….

Best Place on the Internet to get Farmhouse Doorknobs

In case you have never remodeled a house before, I’ll let you in on a little secret. It’s gonna be expensive. You do one upgrade, like paint your walls and trim, only to find out your doors now look terrible.

So then you paint your doors, and then you realize your doorknobs have to go.

See where I’m going with this? It’s a vicious cycle people.

So while in this never ending vortex, I try to cut costs whenever I can without sacrificing the quality.

One thing I priced while making over our hallway was doorknobs and hinges, and man can those add up when you need a million of them. I didn’t realize how many freaking doors we had until I went to replace them all.

My dilemma was, I wanted cool knobs and hinges that I saw in the magazines, but didn’t want to have to sell my plasma to get them. I searched all over the internet and the prices were crazy.

Just when I was about to roll up my sleeves for the phlebotomist, I came across Door Corner….

Claw Foot Table Makeover

Happy Monday my friends! I hope you all had a great weekend!

On Saturday we were in Kansas City because Topher, the unnamed child, and my cousin all ran in the Warrior Dash. If you’re not familiar with what that is, it is a 5K where you have to scale all types of obstacles and usually end up a muddy mess. I didn’t do it because I hate to run. Also, because I don’t scale walls and swim through muddy, freezing lagoons.

Here’s a pic of the maniacs.

They dropped me off at Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is right next to a fun shopping center. I can’t even tell you the last time I had 7 hours to just walk around by myself and shop. I should mention … I found the perfect furniture set for my newly painted living room. Next on my list is how to pay for it.

Today I’ve got a makeover that didn’t cost me a dime. …

Top Must Have Beauty Products for Spring

Hello my friends!

Today I’m stepping a little out of the box and showing you my 5 Must Have Beauty Products for Spring.

In case you’re wondering “What does this have to do with furniture makeovers, decorating posts, or anything DIY related?“, the answer is … it has nothing to do with those things. If you know me at all, 90% of my life I spend with zero makeup on, my hair in a ponytail, and in paint-covered sweats. When you work from home and no one sees you all day, what is the point of straightening your hair and putting on makeup?

On the rare occasion that I do leave the house, I am past the point in my life where I don’t look that bad without makeup. Those days ended around my early thirties, and things really took a turn when I turned the big 4-0 this year.

If you’re anything like me, you don’t like wasting money on a bunch of different beauty products you try out and end up throwing away because you didn’t like them.

Today, I thought I would show you what is working for me, and hopefully they will work for you too….
