October was a busy month at my house! We went away for a few days to Kansas City where I did some vintage shopping, went to the aquarium, the farmers market, and ate at some fun new restaurants … and we got to visit one of my sweet bloggy friends. The unnamed child got a job (yahoo!), I did a little babysitting for my niece, and I cranked out quite a few projects.

When we moved into our home nine years ago, it was a new home, but the builder had installed cheap, builder-grade carpet. Within a year it was already looking rough, and then after years of potty training three rescue dogs and having a million kids camp out at our house, it looks horrendous. So this was so needed and is so appreciated!
This weekend we took down all of the Halloween decorations inside and outside, and I started building my coffee table. It didn’t go quite as fast as I was hoping, but I will get back on it next weekend.
RELove All Things Shabby (the place I have my furniture booth) is having their Holiday Open House this coming Saturday, and I am trying to get some Christmas projects ready to take down there.
The unnamed child came down with a terrible cold on Friday night, and she and Topher had signed up to run in the Mustache Dash on Saturday morning. It was only 28 degrees, and she felt like poo, but she made it through it and then had to go to work that evening. Needless to say, she did not make it to church on Sunday since she felt like death. She slept in all day and then went to work last night.
My head is starting to feel a little stuffy now too, but I refuse to be sick this week. I have way too much to do….
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I am big on going all out on the inside and the outside of my home.
I usually try to keep with a theme., and this Halloween I kind of went with the Spooky, but Glamorous theme. I’m a girly girl, and I am all about sparkle, so of course I have to incorporate that into my decor.
Let’s start with my mantel.
I have some sparkly black candelabras loaded with black hanging crystals, and I topped them with silver glitter candles. Draping across the front, I have my Glitter Skull Garland which I made out of light-up little skulls I found last year….
I set up all of my Halloween decor, but the only thing missing was a wreath for my front door.
I still had my fall wreath hanging on the door alongside all of my ghosts and goblins, and that was so not working.
I wanted something fast and easy, and this Super Spooky Skull Wreath was just the ticket!…

Halloween is known for being fun for the entire family. The kiddos love getting dressed up and getting all of the candy, and the parents love seeing them in their cute costumes and taking them door to door.
Someone that often gets overlooked is the pups.
The kiddo would be munching away on her candy in the car, and the pup would be pleading with her for just one bite, but since chocolate can be deadly to dogs, we made sure not to give her any.One of the houses she went to trick or treat at gave away Milkbones to any dogs that came to the door. We thought that was a brilliant idea! So now that our kiddo is a teenager (and too old to go out), she stays at home to pass out the candy, and we now make up little puppy treat bags to hand out to dogs that come to our door.

It’s Themed Furniture Thursday!!
I always look forward to our monthly furniture group tour. It keeps me on my toes and helps me to remember to step out of my box. This month’s theme is Letters or Numbers.
Now I have done a lot of projects that have had letters on them like my Two Toned Coffee Table, French Stenciled TV Console, and my Parisian Painted Side Table . One thing I have never done is a project with numbers.
My mom found these cute little stacking tables at an estate sale for $5. The tops had seen better days, but other than that they were in good shape….
