Photo Bombed

I get emails all of the time asking where I put my fur babies when I am working on my projects.

The answer is anywhere they want to go.

Trying to lock-away three dogs and a cat while I get some uninterrupted time is unheard of in this house. If I locked them in a separate room, you would be able to hear them all whining all the way to Quebec (and I won’t mention what shape my doors would be in…).

To say that my animals are a bit co-dependent is like saying Ben doesn’t need Jerry. Or that Bella doesn’t need Edward. Topher doesn’t need his coffee. The child doesn’t need Twitter. Plants/sun. Lennon/Ono. You get it.

They have to be with me 24-7. It’s like going to work with four toddlers strapped to your legs.

So to answer the question, How do I keep them out of paint, Mod Podge, tissue paper, carefully folded stacks of burlap, and any other craft project? I don’t.

Puppy Panic (and some pretty painted vases)

I’m taking a poll people. How many of you out there have dogs? And how many of them completely freak the heck out when they hear fireworks? All hands?

As you all know I have three little muffins: Charlie, Gracie, and Lulu. All three of them absolutely lose it when they hear fireworks. It would be one thing if it was only for one night. Unfortunately, everyone within a 10 mile radius feels the need to set them off for an entire week — which sends my pups into hysterics.

As I sit here writing to you, Gracie has her head under a pillow, Lulu is hiding under the couch, and Charlie has been MIA for two hours. I have a sneaking suspicion he is hiding in the unnamed child’s old Barbie Dream House in the basement (yes, he is that small).

The Guy Who Kept Me Up All Night (and an ivory end table)

Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope you had a good weekend!

I have a productive weekend going through my task list: I painted … all weekend long — and just to add some excitement I cleaned too. Wow, how my weekends have changed through the years.

As I promised you Friday, I do have a furniture reveal for you today.

After a long weekend of working, I was ready to crash last night. For some reason I couldn’t fall asleep though. I lay there forever and I finally got up and read for a while.

After an hour, I tried it again, but by that point it had been a long time since dinner and it’s hard to sleep when your stomach is growling. I ignored it and finally feel asleep.

Next thing I know I heard a huge crash from the kitchen. I went out to find that Kitten had knocked a plate of cookies on the floor that the dogs were frantically trying to inhale.

Photo Gallery Reveal

What is it that gets you crazy motivated to do some last minute decor improvements?

Company coming over, right? I just finished my How To Host A Baby Shower series, and with a houseful of people coming over, it sent me into warp speed on cleaning and finishing projects I never seemed to have time to finish.

A while back I showed you my wall decor on changing a vintage mirror into a frame. It was a little lonely there on that big old wall, and I knew I wanted a photo gallery to incorporate some family photos. I kept thinking I would get to it, but you know how that goes…

When my hubby and I were in Kansas City for our anniversary, I picked up some great old frames (and a great pair of faux antlers), and I finally got to work on them.
